We all know that most of us don’t have all day to sit around and read every poker book every written, so it’s important that when we do have time to read, we’re reading the best poker books available.

Before we get into a list of some of the best poker books out there I want to talk about reading poker books. When you read a poker book it’s important that you take the time to read everything. A lot of people skip through chapters, but you won’t get the full experience by doing this. If you’re just learning how to play poker, you should read a few books before you actually start playing. There is no point in playing poker while you’re still learning the basics out of a poker book.

* Harrington on Holdem Volume 1 & Volume 2 are must-read poker books for anyone that hasn’t read them yet. Harrington, who is a spokesman for AbsolutePoker.net has proven many times in the past that he understands the game of poker by winning many prestigious poker events. These books go through tons of information on winning large tournaments as well as tons of other information that applies to all forms of poker.

* The Real Deal by Phil Gordon is an excellent read for any poker fan. Some may not like Phil Gordon’s commentary, but there is no doubt that he can write a great book. This is a very entertaining read, but at the same time you’ll learn a lot about poker. The book is geared towards beginner poker players so if you have a new poker player in the family they’ll love this one.

* The Complete Book of Holdem is another book written with the new poker player in mind. This book is loaded with tons of valuable information. If you’re just starting to play poker then this guide will teach you everything that you need to know. Due to the size of this book you can play while reading through the chapters, but get through the first few before you start playing.

* The Theory of Poker is a more advanced book for those ClubWPT poker players that have been playing the game for a couple years and want to take it to the next level. This book goes through some serious thought process strategy and tips. By the time you’re done reading this book you’ll have a firm grasp on the game of poker and how to destroy the tables when you’re playing.
